Redwood Dream

I captured this image one early morning in Muir Woods in California. These trees have always amazed me with their height, beauty, and the resiliency to the environment around them.
When hiking through a redwood grove it's as if I can feel the ancient spirits of all things that lived in these groves over time. There is a special mysticism felt as you walk these giants.

Napa Mill II

I went out early in the morning to Napa and arrived just after sunrise. This building caught my eye.
The Napa Mill has been around since 1884.
I really like how the building stands tall in comparison to all the other buildings in the area. The atmosphere surrounding the building is very artistic with the Napa River on one side, Downtown Napa on the other.

Santa Monica Pier

This image was taken from the beach of Santa Monica. I'm guessing the rubber around the pilons is there to protect surfers as they slalom between them.
There are two things that I do really like though about Southern California and that is the weather and the beaches.
I love the beach for one and playing in the waves is fun.

Fruit of the Vine

Living in Northern California to me is a wonderful experience living so close to so many world class vineyards and wineries.
Being able to see the growing season go through all the cycles is really a treat.
In the fall the leaves start changing color and the grapes get a nice rich purple color. The wineries start teaming with activity. This image was captured just before the harvest.

California Sunflower

What could be happier than a California sunflower soaking up the California sun. I saw this sunflower at a local winery and thought I would dress it up with a pair of sunglasses. This was done to project the mood I was in after tasting a couple of delicious red wines. I was feeling a little whimsical and I hope that this sunflower reflects this.

Harbor Springs Michigan

Harbor Springs, Michigan is a beautiful little resort town south of the Mackinaw Bridge at the northern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The town is sheltered by Little Traverse Bay on the shores of Lake MIchigan. The town gets its name from the natural springs that flow into the harbor.
