Wild Mustard

Wild Mustard grows all over Northern California. Typically it's living all year round but the blooms only open when there is plenty of rain. Out here that usually means springtime.
The vineyards let the mustard grow between the grape vines adding a little spice to the soil. When you travel through the Napa Wine Country in the spring time the valley is filled with the tiny yellow flowers.

Rocky Mountain National Park

I had one chance to get up in the mountains on a visit to Colorado some time back. Despite the nice sunny look, at 14,000 ft it was rather cold at the summit.
I wish I could have gone the previous day when a storm was skirting the area but I obligations. Although, to me, this is very beautiful, I can only imagine what it would have looked like with clouds around the peaks.

Fog In the Solano Hills
Every summer in the morning hours the heat from the inland valley of California pulls the cool moist air from the San Francisco Bay over the hills of Solano County. As the morning progresses and the valley heats up the fog burns off leaving a clear blue sky.
This is the view I have as I drive down interstate 680 on my way to work. Nice golden hills blanketed in fog.

Mt Lassen From Lake Manzanita
Mt. Lassen is the southernmost Volcanic peak in the Cascade Range and is located about an hour east of Redding California.
The mountain rises roughly 2,000 ft above the surrounding terrain and is one of the largest volcanic domes on earth.
From the peak you can look across the valley over to it's sister mountain, Mt Shasta. Very pretty indeed.

Museum of Man

I went down to Balboa Park and found a photographers Paradise. The buildings are magnificent and the architecture is out of this world beautiful.
This building was built for the 1915 Panama-American Exposition and is truly an impressive structure.
I had explored most of the park and then saw this beautiful structure looming up framed by the palm trees.

Indian Corn

That's all I've ever known these ears as. That is until I started did an internet search to learn more about these colorful ears of corn.
Growing up in the Midwest these colorful ears adorned many of houses that I hung out in. Little did I know what a staple this was and how hardy this plant is, especially when it's compared to the white and yellow corn that most of us grew up eating.

Red Barn On Hoyt Road

Red Barn On Hoyt Road.
This red barn stands out in my mind as the iconic red barn of all times. Looking out over acres of lush green pasture land that the horses feed on throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
The barn has gone through some changes over the years and it's good to see that it's been restored, maybe even improved beyond restoration.

Golden Gate Bridge - From The Edge

The Golden Gate Bridge is by estimation, the most photographed bridge in the world.
This image was captured on what was actually a cold day in February from the San Francisco side of the bridge.
The Golden Gate Bridge was completed in 1937. The bridge has become iconic and one of the very recognizable symbols of the State of California.

Fenced Reflection

One day while driving around right near sunset I was getting frustrated at my lack of subjects to shoot. I pulled over to slow down and just kind of scope out the area. that's when I saw this fence. I found it odd that the fence ran into the water, but I really enjoyed the light on it and the pattern that it created. I hope you do to.
