This well-known deAdder 'Jaws' cartoon is from 2018 when Doug Ford slashed the number of Toronto councillors by half.
At the time, Ford called it “the best present I’ve ever given to the mayor.” [Tory] He also said that the 25 councillors are “doing a pretty good job” but that his nephew, Michael Ford, was “the best councillor down there.”
The Ontario Auditor's office hired mystery shoppers who contacted 25 different IHFs, private hospitals, and private clinics performing eye surgeries.
Add-on fees for OHIP-insured cataract surgery ranged from $450 - $5000 extra per eye for non-OHIP lens.
Some patients were told the non-OHIP lens were better quality than the OHIP-covered lens.
