Also in 2026, I will continue doing what I do best; posting photos taken on moments when they are no longer actual or relevant, occasionally accompanied by long texts that nobody reads. ๐
Last Sunday, I saw a photo of the Buiksloter church in wintery conditions during a colourful sunset posted in a group on Facebook that I am following. Exactly the kind of photo that was still on my wishlist to make as well... or at least, with the colourful sunset, the wintery conditions would be a nice bonus.
Last Sunday however was the last day of a colder couple of weeks that we have had here in the Netherlands, and I knew thaw would kick in the day after. Last Sunday started sunny, but unlike what the weather forecasts predicted, it got cloudy pretty early on in the day, and it would remain cloudy.
So around 16:00, I already suspected that colourful sunset was off the table. But at least the wintery conditions were still there, and I knew I would regret it if I wouldn't go out. So I did, with the intention of shooting the 'fake' blue hour by lack of any colour in the sky around sunset.
It was cold, it was windy, the streets and roads were slippery AF, but I'm not too dissatisfied with the result. ๐
