Don't ask me why, but I always had a photographic soft spot for street splits. Zutphen definitely had some nice ones, but I think this is my favourite.

Foggy evening in Broek in Waterland. Normally it's dark enough over here at night as it is, but it at the very least felt even darker in the fog. At least that makes for a nice spooky effect on the photo. 😁

That you're meeting up with photo friends in the Amsterdam city center after work for a sunset photo idea. The sunset ended up being rubbish, but we had fun nevertheless.

Before last Saturday, I had been in the city of Zutphen once before.

Back on that first visit, I stumbled upon this location, with these beautiful old buildings in the foreground and the Drogenapstoren in the background. However I couldn't do much with it photographically as you're facing the south, thus getting a lot of backlight. So I knew I could realistically only make this work either during the day on a cloudy day, or during nighttime.

This ended up being the driver for the photowalk I ended up doing last Saturday, and what better way to go full circle than to share that moment with some good friends?

Some people from the photo club and I went to the city of Zutphen for a photo walk last Saturday, which was a great meetup as per usual. :)

I didn't quite have this location in mind for during the evening, this is typically more a daytime location as it clearly gets pretty dark here, however the humidity in the air and a few pretty powerful spotlights on the Sint-Walburgis church made this a spot I couldn't resist to stop by and take my time for this one.

The composition of this photo isn't great. The lens that I used wasn't wide angle enough to put more of especially the cheese farm on the right on the photo better, and I couldn't quite choose between the windmills and the cheese farm either.

Under normal circumstances, I more than likely would have thrown this photo away. But the northern lights change everything. 😅

Oh yeah, the Amsterdam Light Festival, that's still ongoing. 😅 Tomorrow is the last day, so it's time to draw up the balance.

I haven't been as involved with this edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival in comparison with previous editions, think I have paid 'only' three visits. It nevertheless was a relatively interesting edition.

By no means the most interesting one, I don't think we're ever going to get the kind of light festival anymore like the first two or three editions were, but there most definitely have also been far less impressive editions.

It looks like the organisation of the Amsterdam Light Festival has chosen quality over quantity. There were fewer projects this edition compared to previous editions, but the fewer projects that were out there were of a higher level in my opinion. So I hope the ALF will continue on that path moving forward.

By the way, where I normally would have spread the photos out over multiple uploads, this time I'll just post the three photos I had left to share in one go.
