While I go to all kinds of places for my photography, sometimes you'll stumble upon something that's closer to home.
We mostly have boring green trees here in the neighbourhood that turn somewhat yellow during autumn, but before those leaves even get the chance to properly start popping those yellows, they're on the ground already. That's why I was so fascinated by this tree with its bright red foliage, for how much out of place it was to me.
It may be surrounded by ugly apartment buildings and parking garages, the playground is nothing to write home about, and the boring grey sky didn't do wonders either on this late afternoon a week and a half ago. But after having walked past this tree a couple of times already in the days prior, I couldn't resist the urge to pick up my camera and get cracking this one time.
Glad I did so, by the way, as I noticed this tree was practically bare yesterday. Which goes to show; sometimes it's best not to wait for perfect conditions that might never come, just take the opportunity as it comes and see where it will take you.
