Finished "How to Solve Your Own Murder". My final score: 6/10.
Not bad, but aside from this idea with the fortune that foretold the victims murder, it didn't have that much to offer. Plenty of characters were introduced at once and I kept wondering "who was that again?". Plus, the victim's journal, while it didn't actually solve the #mystery, still felt like an easy way out.
The book is not bad, but I do wonder what it is doing on a bestseller list.

Tom Tykwer – „Das Parfum“ (2006)

Dieser Film riecht eigentlich schon nach Größenwahn. Denn Tom Tykwer hat 2006 das Unverfilmbare gewagt, und das war Patrick Süskinds Kultroman, der als viel zu olfaktorisch, also viel zu sinnlich galt, um zu einem Film werden. Und das Ding funktioniert doch! Nicht, weil es das Buch kopiert, sondern weil es den Stoff neu riecht – als visuelles Rauschgift. Ein Film, der so dekadent ist, dass ich die Luft anhalten wollte.
