pez23@bud_t Rereading your post with morning eyes I caught your requirements a little better. While I still contend the Baratza Encore (especially with the M2 burr upgrade) will suit your needs just fine, I've always wanted the Baratza Vario+ which is their consumer flat ceramic burr grinder. It's just a bit outside my price range.

I can't *prove* breville's support of Baratza grinders is sub par, but I have had to replace the same parts multiple times since they took over.
And to be honest, it's really freaking annoying.

My grinder's chassis is cracked in multiple places and the temporary fixes I applied over time won't be enough soon, so I bought a new chassis - thankfully parts from Baratza are reasonably priced so repairs make a lot more sense than paying far more to buy a new coffee grinder.

Baratza's support materials (YouTube and PDF documents) were a huge help to understand what was broken, how to disassemble the grinder and which product number the required spare parts have. Additionally, all of these spare parts were easily purchasable. I only spent ~20€ in total to repair it! I will definitely recommend Baratza from now on #coffee #repair
