Aaah.. the everlasting #balancing act between, #finances, #maintainabily, and #ux in #software #development.
Customer-built balancing stand from France paired with a Balanset-1A. Milled aluminum frame, cylindrical rotor on two bearing supports, elastic cord drive. Rigid construction limits sensitivity to small unbalance versus soft-bearing designs, but the vibration analysis and correction mass calculation run fine for medium-class rotors.
Soft-bearing stand for turbocharger CHRA balancing — pendulum cradles on chains, pneumatic drive into the turbine wheel, ~2500 rpm working speed. Balanset-1A handles it via three-run method; vibration analysis on the cradles. Watch rpm stability on air drive — ±10–15% per run or the correction masses drift.
Field balancing of the chopper rotor on an SK-5 Niva — a Soviet combine still working on plenty of farms. Two-plane correction with a Balanset-1A, vibration analysis at operating RPM, weights welded in place. No disassembly, done on the machine.
Chopper shaft balancing on an ACROS 595 Plus combine — done in the field, in own bearings. ⚙️
Balanset-1A on a folding table, vibration sensor on a tripod, laser tach on the shaft. Full vibration analysis setup under the machine on the grass.
Heavy steel flails on that drum. Vibration reduced to minimal levels. 📊
