"Whipping Post" is a song by #TheAllmanBrothersBand. Written by #GreggAllman, the five-minute studio version first appeared on their 1969 debut album The Allman Brothers Band. The song was regularly played live and was the basis for much longer and more intense performances. This was captured in the Allman Brothers' 1971 #double live album #AtFillmoreEast, where a 22-minute, 40-second rendition of the song takes up the entire final side.

"At Fillmore East" by The Allman Brothers Band released in July 1971. As far as I'm concerned, one of the 5 best live albums ever.

Great Albums - 1970s: #AllmanBrothersBand#AtFillmoreEast (1971). The Allmans at their peak worked so far outside the norms of rock, this double LP belongs as much in the ranks of blues and jazz through the extended “Stormy Monday,” “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” etc. Duane coaxes his best magic from a Coricidin bottle on a Les Paul, and the rest of the band plays with an uncanny ability to wander and weave among the licks. Whipping Post!
