Something I wish I had understood about #ADHD years ago:

One of my biggest problems isn't with #focus, or even #ExecutiveDysfunction (at least, not in the normal way people think about it).

It's with #ConflictResolution.

If I am planning to go somewhere and a family member asks me to do something at the same time, I will literally lock up like an #Asmiov robot being given two contradictory commands and sit at home and flip through Youtube Shorts rather than getting either done, because I cannot resolve the conflict.

It sounds comical/cartoonish, but it sucks so badly!!!

The only way around it that I can think of is to ask family members to ask me what my plans are before asking if I can do something, because otherwise I can't find a way around it. And of course, it's hard to just say "no." (Middle Eastern, yo!)

Another day, another page written. Incorporating material from #OlafStapledon’s Star Maker, this time, and a bit from #Asmiov’s Foundation. #dissertation #SciFi

Proving I am human to an AI application by filling a captcha is peak irony. The machine judges my humanity, acts as a gatekeeper, and provides me a pass when it feels safe enough.

Somewhere #Asmiov is laughing it out loud.
