American neo-Nazis point to Trump’s rhetoric — his attacks on diversity initiatives, his hard-line stance on immigration and his invocation of "Western values” — as driving a surge in interest and recruitment. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2025/08/11/world/politics/american-nazis-aryan-freedom-network-trump/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #worldnews #politics #nazis #wwii #adolfhitler #holocaust #us #donaldtrump #trade #tariffs #republicans #hatespeech #discrimination #aryanfreedomnetwork #daltonhenrystout
American Nazis: The Aryan Freedom Network is riding high in Trump era

The Guardian

A fourteen-year-old boy who lives in Raleigh and Benson, North Carolina, has claimed he is the youth director for the neo-Nazi Aryan Freedom Network. We have found these claims to be legitimate. Per the AFN website, youth membership requires parental membership:

“White Aryan Youth both boys and girls of good character between the ages of 14-17, and who’s (sic) parent or guardian is also a member of the Aryan Freedom Network, and also who believes in the principles, values above all, the future of our racial heritage.”

With the support and aid of adults in his life, this young person appears to have spoken from behind a podium at “AryanFest” in Lexington, Georgia in October, 2024, and to have been spreading neo-Nazi recruiting propaganda in multiple NC counties over the past few months. While we won’t be naming the 14yo or showing his face, we do want to make communities aware of this obvious threat by highlighting some of the adults who seem hellbent on helping the kid immerse himself in hate and destroy his future.

ALERT: “Aryan Fest” in Georgia, October 26

The Aryan Freedom Network (AFN) is a neo-Nazi group that claims to operate within 26 US states. AFN is currently advertising its national “Aryan Fest” gathering—a major get-together for AFN and its white supremacist allies—for Saturday, October 26th at an undisclosed location in Georgia. The Georgia event advertises racist musical acts from the RAC (“Rock Against Communism”) scene, speakers, a boxing competition, and a swastika lighting at dusk. We believe this event could present a danger to those living or working near the “Aryan Fest” site.

What's also concerning are the reports of “#radical #traditionalist” Catholic groups finding common cause with openly #fascist movements—a reality that is downplayed in the right-wing reaction to the memo.

As I’ve reported for the Texas Observer, openly fascist groups such as #Groypers, #ProudBoys, #PatriotFront, the #AmericanNationalistInitiative, and the #AryanFreedomNetwork
— have protested outside LGTBQ+ events alongside two hardline Catholic groups:
the #NewColumbiaMovement ( #NCM ) founded by a member of the Mussolini-loving “American Black Shirts”,
and the #FamilyTraditionAndProperty ( #FTP ) group, originally founded by a Brazilian antisemite who wrote about the “Jewish problem.”

FBI Overreach Is Concerning, But So Are "Radical-Traditionalist" Catholics

A recently leaked memo recalls a sordid history of inappropriate surveillance, but it also identifies a concerning overlap between neo-fascists and hardline religious groups.
