Arts Award!
The results are in and all participants in the Alfreton Home Education group achieved Arts Award Bronze! A huge well done to everyone for such a strong set of portfolios and big thanks to Black Shale LCEP for support and funding for this opportunity.
I've gone Arts Award crazy over the last few weeks! Continuing sessions with the Home Ed and Creative Connections groups in Alfreton and also a half term 'Discover in a Day' session with a group of young leaders in Newton.
Lot's of great work produced and reflections by the young people involved, here's some snippets from the activities.
This week I started working with the Home Ed group in Alfreton where a group of young people are aiming to complete their Bronze Arts Awards. We started with cyanotype photography looking at its history and examples of artists working with the process.
Last week was so much fun, I loved every minute of 'Concept' at NMPAT delivering Arts Award for Pedestrian. The staff team worked with 8 young people to help them to write, record and produce their own original pieces of music whilst completing Arts Award Explore.

More photo walks with a mentee this week for The Mighty Creatives 'Creative Mentoring' programme. We always make sure we've got a selection of his favourite workshop cameras (with spare batteries) to hand and a good route mapped out, the only caveat being we have to end our walk at the local coffee shop!

As a trained Arts Award adviser I recently I supported 9 young people on their Arts Award journey during Pedestrian's 'Concept' project in Leicester. Not only did they achieve Arts Award but also created a group album of original music, a very busy bunch!

Image Set: Last week I was invited to produce images for TMC at the 'Creative Futures: Voices' celebration event at the Highfields Centre Leicester. Wonderful to see and experience the amazing creative work made by the young people involved.
Great news to start the year. All participants involved in the Callum's Voice Arts Award sessions have achieved 'Explore' level! I had great fun working with the group and the reflections in their personal logs really highlight the power that creativity has to connect us.

Early train to Alfreton this morning to continue the Arts Award journey with the group at Callum's Voice. So far we've explored animation and cyanotype photography. This week the group are deciding on which art forms they'd like to use to create pieces for a sharing in a few weeks!
