Former West Midlands Mayor #AndyStreet and #Tory Baroness #RuthDavidson have launched #ProsperUK - apparently to "๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ด๐˜ถ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜•๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฆโ€™๐˜ด ๐˜™๐˜ฆ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ ๐˜œ๐˜’"?

Meanwhile a new attempt is to be made to attract more traditional centre right voters back to the #conservativeparty . This was announced yesterday by #ruthdavidson - now a baroness - and the former mayor of the #westmidlands - now Sir #andystreet . A further shift in the kaleidoscope of #ukpolitics ?

โ€˜Obsessionโ€™ with Reform UK could leave Tories out of power for 20 years, warns Andy Street

Former West Midlands mayor on why his party was defeated, what they can do about it, and his next steps

The Guardian

Rumoured results from Birmingham in the Mayor Against the West Midlands:

ConLab A: 80,251
ConLab B: 66,296
Ind-Yakoob: 42,953
Three others: about 20,000

In 2012, we were asked if we wanted a "strong mayor".

No: 120,611
Yes: 88,085

"No mayor" has beaten all candidates.

Whichever ConLab "wins" tonight's count has no democratic mandate. At all.

Always respect the will of the people, not just when it's convenient.

Well done to #andyburnam on being reelected as Mayor of Greater Manchester. #andystreet over in #westmidlands faces a battle. He always struck me as the right kind of Tory. Although I am sure others disagree.

why ask for a recount if you are not happy with result so far?
