Many people of my generation have heard of Bill Safire, who worked as a speechwriter for Richard Nixon and Nixon’s Vice President Spiro Agnew. When I was growing up, Safire had long departed the Nixon White House. Listening to an older #RachelMaddow podcast and a recording of Spiro #Agnew loudly and publicly insisting on his innocence, shortly before he was forced out of office.
Wow, so glad we all learned out lesson from that era and will never again put blatantly corrupt #Republican politicians in positions of power!

That's why I said, "...should be ruled unconstitutional,..." It might not be, given the fact that the complete institutional setup was meant to protect the WASP landed gentry.
