I view this as a subtle form of mutism.

Autistic people need to understand the world around us. In new situations I hide until I completely understand, often not speaking. I often call myself "laconic". I have a solid understanding of French, but when I try to speak, I am completely unable to get a word out.

I've said that as a child I hung around adults because they were more predictable, but as an adult I like children and dogs because they are predictable.

Got this message earlier in the week, just after midnight.

Clearly an AI-written scam. Funny considering the band of trolls accusing me for a week of being AI 😹

BC I dared speak up & asked them to consider #disabled + marginalised groups in their Luddite cries of hate & anger.

Typical #abelist behavoiur demanding I do all emotional labour, show all my receipts but refuse to do same. They hated that from the beginning I showed receipts!

Maybe it’s just LLMs sound like #ActuallyAustitic me!

@Neybulot I've never found TikTok to be a worthwhile source for anything serious. I strongly suggest reading Unmasking Autism by Devon Price. Other than that, you should subscribe to @actuallyautistic and listen to the #ActuallyAustitic tag, and listen to the conversations there.

If you are in your 30s and haven't been diagnosed yet, and you find that you are, you'd be a late-diagnosed individual. I'm late-diagnosed. I self-diagnosed at 50. I'm now 51. The resources I mention above were invaluable.

Do not seek an official diagnosis without thoroughly researching the provider first. A lot of providers are woefully uninformed about the latest research in autism and will tell you you're not when you are. I explain in this article why I don't seek a formal diagnosis right now:

https://yourautisticlife.substack.com/p/why-i-dont-seek-formal-diagnosis

I'm not seeking one for now, but I record almost all my observations so that if I do seek one, I'll be well equipped.

Why I Don't Seek Formal Diagnosis

It is likely to end up being pointless in the USA.

Your Autistic Life

Sometimes, that first moment under the weighted blanket feels like my soul is being crushed back into my body. The sensation floods my nerves and I just think, "that certainly is a sensory."

Alright I have seen the stereotype around that autistic people can't lie and/or feel very guilty for lying. A few questions pop into my mind, but the first is when do you lie?

"autism" is not a disease, it does not have symptoms, it is not "treatable". No more than you can "treat" being gay. Being autistic is good and cool actually. Fuck anyone that would dare use that terminology against us.

@roamnallova @theautisticcoach I feel like I am perfectly normal. Just not like normal people. #actuallyaustitic
Hello I have a question for neurodivergent folk. I have sensitivity to touching things and it stops me from cooking. I tried using gloves but it made me feel bad because of single use plastics. Are there some recommendations for gloves that can be used for cooking that are reusable? #actuallyaustitic #neurodivergence #cooking #enviromentalism

This is my technical profile in English.

I will discuss my open source-projects and ponder about strange ways to scratch my itch.

I have a Danish profile at @pmakholm, where I will share my more social stuff in Danish.
