This is the end of an HDMI cable with the shield ripped off. It happened while I was adjusting a new install for our older TV. Push this here, pull that there and poof, the cable was no longer connected to the TV and was swinging from the wall.

The shield (second photo) was left in the TV. Whoever designed the mount structure for the HDMI connector in the TV did a good job; the connector in the TV still works.

The cable's toast, but I have another, and a lesson learned.
