My Thinkpad with Archlinux/Wayland/Niri crashed yesterday after an upgrade.
Keyboard/mouse unresponsive on log in. Ctl-Alt F1 did nothing.
Back to Alma Linux.

#ThinkPad T480 acquired, #ArchLinux installed, and everything is now good to go! Don’t get me wrong—I still love my T430s. But the T480 is faster, lighter, and has a significantly better screen, making it a better #Linux daily driver. Can’t wait to go places (literally and figuratively) with it!

A onor del vero, subito dopo ho riprovato... Ho modificato una sola risposta e #debian è uscito al posto di @alpinelinux ... Ma al primo posto è rimasto #archlinux.... Mi toccherà provarlo :)

Aight, #fediverse

Should I switch from #archLinux to #gentooLinux now, or wait until we definitively know what's going on with #systemd and #ageVerification before making that decision?

Maybe even a #linuxFromScratch base system running #flatpaks out the wazzoo?

really? nobody's talking about this? fine.
archinstall is adding age verification.
https://github.com/archlinux/archinstall/pull/4290

i do recommend you use artix with openrc anyway since systemd has already implemented a birthdate field to user records
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/40954

and also since the arch linux maintainers are being particularly hush-hush about this (see first link, locked as "too heated" when there was basically zero heat, apart from CelestifyX making that final meaningless quip)

read all about it... okay time to do the tags

As someone who has used Arch for many many years I am actually proud I found a distribution that fits my needs. No longer do I need to maintain my own build. CachyOS has done it right, and is rock solid for my needs. Whether it works for you is fully dependent on your workflow though, so it may not be for everyone. For me it's a chefs kiss, and if that changes I can always go back to Vanilla Arch. #cachyos #archlinux #Iusearchbtw #DidImentionIUseArchBtw #Foss #Linux #Digitalfreedom
