For all the little guys who want to have their infrastructure under control, I would like to inform you that I took the trouble to compile the Zabbix installation packages for the 32-bit #ARM, i.e. for the Raspberry PI2

No one will probably use the Zabbix server on such weak hardware, but the Zabbix proxy works on my RPi2 with 1Gb of ram without any problems, so I can imagine that it could work for someone else too.

So if you need to monitor, like me, a /26 network and don't want to dedicate a gluttonous old PC to it or speculate on which virtual machine to use, reach for your good old Raspberry and give it a new purpose and life.

10+ years after I got #kvm working on a #cubietruck (#arm32) I am now seriously considering #raspberrypi as a production platform for that hypervisor - succeeding the existing #x86_64 one.

Ages since I updated tvheadend which runs trouble free on Odroid XU4 in the loft. Turns out “ages” is ~2 years. In the interim, docker container from linuxserver.io I use no longer supports 32-bit arm. Have work to do to run most recent image they built.

I expect tvheadend.org will supply #armv7l binaries when they go to 4.4 or I can just compile one again. A bit of a pain for more casual folks who just stuck it on boards like the xu4 or more commonly older raspberry pi devices.

Microsoft leitet den Abschied von 32-Bit-Anwendungen unter Windows 11 ein. Zumindest bei den ARM-kompatiblen Versionen des Betriebssystems werden die alten UWP-basierten Apps für 32-Bit-Systeme seit der jüngsten Insider-Preview nicht mehr unterstützt.
