MILES DAVIS
Pangaea
1975 Japan 2xLP pressing
Something about Miles on a raw, wet #autumn day.
I don’t know, man.
No need to go outside now.
Just me and a Scotch listening to a genius fly off to Planet Zero.

BOBBY HUTCHERSON
Cirrus
1974 U.S. pressing
One of my 3 favorite #jazz albums to get my Thursday morning started.
A hauntingly beautiful record.
My 14 yr old has just started to appreciate certain kinds of jazz music, and Cirrus was one of the records that did it for him. Like his father, he isn’t totally wild about the genre, but knows the kind he likes when he hears it.
A great choice to go with my apple pancakes this morning.

PACIFIC SALT
Pacific Salt
1973 Canada
A little change of pace for this fine Thursday afternoon.
Some cool vibe-y early #70s #jazz rock fusion from Vancouver.
When the head of the Music Dept. at Malaspina College tells you it’s good, I guess you can take it as gospel? 😝
Kind of a weird one, but cool nonetheless.

DON ‘Sugar Cane’ ELLIS
Fiddler On The Rock
1971 Germany pressing
Speaking of great album covers…
Super groovy avant-garde jazz rock that starts off with a cover of “Elanor Rigby”, then goes straight through to the end with all Don-penned jazz shenanigans.
Throw this on and take a jazz bath.
Get all up in Don’s jazz.
