Two new "hats" are almost ready for release, adding some melee action to the game. One is inspired by Pax Tux, the other by Sir Optimize. Each provides directional protection against magic - one reflects fireballs, the other prevents being frozen - and both catch arrows.

Shortly after putting out the new Tux! release a few hours ago, a bug was discovered. The combination of the new sliding shells with the freeze spell had not been considered, but an idea was instantly born and executed:
With the latest commit, frozen shells will freeze players upon impact, on top of dealing damage.

Another long-planned feature of Tux! has finally been implemented, and will be included in the next release: Walking into a stunned snail will now send them sliding until they crash into a wall, a creature or another player.

Tux! now shows a preview of the selected level before starting a match, and has gained a command-line flag to run the game in a mode that makes taking consistent screenshots a breeze.
The background of the main menu also gained some detail in the form of rocks, hills and grass blades.
Furthermore, keyboard and gamepad navigation of the UI has been significantly improved.
Expect a new release soon!
