The thing about the Time Meddler is it’s nearly impossible to see it with the surprise as it would have been on broadcast. Elizabeth Sandifer (Tardis Eruditorum) argues the story should be called The Saxons or at least The Watcher (first episode title).

While it’s a trope now, before this point historicals didn’t have sci-fi elements in them. Finding another time traveller was a true shock!

I will admit that Time Meddler and Romans are my favorite first doctor stories.

The command centre of the #Daleks Time Machine (DARDIS) is a wonderful design. It proves more reliable than the #1stDoctor TARDIS in The Chase through time and space.
