@marioguzman @tuomas_h Eurovision is the best! I so recommend going, we had such a great time this year, absolutely incredible
@marcedwards At this point it almost looks like Sketch will be the only true UI design software left. With InVision Studio and XD dead, Framer having ā€œpivotedā€ and now Figma also seemingly becoming some sort of platform, the competition for that specific (maybe small) market is getting thin
@marcedwards This whole thing doesn’t really make me confident about the core design tool. Their recent strategy already puts the focus on other features and my guess would be that investor pressure will make them move more heavily in an enterprise-software direction

I am begging writers & writing-related-workers of all kinds—but especially people working in journalism and blogs—to stop using ā€œAI artā€ to accompany your writing.

Please have solidarity with your fellow creative workers šŸ’œ

@nikitonsky definitely do agree with you on the little details ai gets wrong. the cable confuses me too, but other than that it there’s no real flaws. it’s basically the same problem we have at uni when grading programming assignments: slightly broken or janky things are better than textbook-level things because they are at least definitely human
@nikitonsky is it tough? don’t want to defend apple but this looks like a pretty standard 3d render
@brianhough Just copying the image and pasting it in the Finder info box works for me. As for modifying the system apps, you can create a new folder with .app and then symlink the contents of the app (there are way better explanations on the internet)
@florian oooh that’s really nice!

In #photography, lenses are often advertised with a specific focal length (24 mm, 50 mm, …). Since this is dependent on in the camera’s sensor size and doesn't work well with cropping, I have been thinking about a different notation.

Here, I propose the Ļ€/# notation (Ļ€/2.1, Ļ€/3.8, …) that is more image-centric and independent of camera systems. Let me know what you think:

https://formkunft.com/angle-of-view/

Angle of view: π/#

A sensor-independent notation for the frame of an image.

So at least in the current beta, Tahoe doesn’t put custom icons in squircle jail or apply the glass effect so it’s still possible to get the classics back!
