Does anyone else using #GoogleDrive installed on #MacOS experience very poor performance?

For example, if I open a not-particularly-large or complex Excel file saved in Drive, Excel is brought to it’s knees. Unresponsive, slow, and nearly unusable. However, same file opened from local storage has no issues (so it’s Excel itself isn’t the problem).

Another issue I have is with file syncing speeds. Files I save to Drive don’t appear in the web-Drive for an unusually long period of time (or vice versa when waiting for files coworkers have created).

And before anyone offers up alternatives to Drive, unfortunately my work has stuck on Drive and won’t budge. If it were up to me we’d be on Dropbox (where we were preciously with no issues).
