Teaching a bit of Sholem Aleichem, which, though awesome, feels wrong for my lack of Yiddish. (Have only a smattering from my parents and grandparents.) However! I'm on sabbatical beginning in June. What's the best place to start? Open to lessons, short-term immersive programs, quality resources, etc.

[. . .] Our aim is to host a conference that is on the one hand inclusive and represents the methodological diversity within the field, and on the other hand disciplinarily specific enough to encourage in-depth, technical discussions that might feel out of place in other forums.

We invite papers on any topic relating to rabbinic literature of the first millennium C.E.

Applicants are requested to submit a title and a short abstract (up to 400 words) to [email protected] by 5pm on January 15th, 2023. We encourage submissions from scholars at all stages of their career after the completion of the Ph.D.
Yale University plans to cover presenters' accommodations for the night; some assistance in travel funds may also be available; meals will be provided.

New platform… time for an #introduction…

I'm a Senior Lecturer (= Associate Professor) in Theology and World Christianity in the School of Divinity, University of Edinburgh. I co-direct the Centre for the Study of World Christianity.

Much of my work has been on theology in mainland China. I'm currently working in the areas of: #theology from a #WorldChristianity perspective, #digitaltheology, and #BritishChinese Christianity.
