What is now publicly happening to Boeing is the inevitable fate of any business in unregulated capitalism, given enough time.
As a publicly traded company, its mission is not to make planes, its mission is to make money for its board and shareholders. Specifically between now and the end of the current financial quarter.
People and organizations are incentivized to cut corners, as they all eventually will, or be replaced with those who will.
Is it a little flawed that defendants should have to pay a giant bond to appeal a ruling? Maybe. But the American working class is at the wrong end of that same system every single day.
It may have already been a problem, but it doesn't suddenly become one because it impacts the rich. For once, that flawed dynamic is working against, and not in favor of, a lifelong fraudster, traitor, and all around scumbag.
