Excited to share that Atomizer, has been awarded the Replicability Stamp! πŸ…

πŸ”— Check it out here: https://www.replicabilitystamp.org/#https-github-com-xavierchermain-atomizer

On top of that, we've just added some cool new capabilities to the repository:

* πŸŒ€ Gyroid infill support
* βš™οΈ 3Z kinematics: https://xavierchermain.github.io/publications/threez

If you're interested in reproducible research, or just want to play with these new features, have a look at the repo and let us know what you think!

πŸš€ Our work will be presented this Friday at SCF'25 at MIT!

Towards Accessible Non-Planar FFF Using Triple Z-Axis Kinematics

We explore how to make non-planar FFF more accessible by adding minimal, low-cost mods to standard triple-Z 3D printers.

Up to 30Β° bed tilt -> real 5-DOF printing on machines like the RatRig V-Core.

Want to know how Atomizer works and why it matters?

πŸ“½οΈ I’ve shared my presentation on YouTube! It covers:

* Limits of planar & non-planar slicers
* Atomizer’s core concept: uniform β€œatom” distribution
* Our Python implementation & experimental results

Atomizer: Beyond Non-Planar Slicing for Fused Filament Fabrication - Presentation

YouTube

πŸš€ Thrilled to share that Atomizer, our innovative toolpath generator for fused filament fabrication (3D printing), received an honorable mention at SGP! πŸŽ‰

Atomizer goes beyond traditional non-planar slicing with a fresh approach to generating toolpaths.

Project page: https://xavierchermain.github.io/publications/atomizer

#3Dprinting #SGP #Innovation #Toolpath #Atomizer

We propose Atomizer: a new toolpath generation method for Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) that goes beyond layers. We pack volume with atoms instead of slices, enabling precise, collision-free, non-planar 3D printing with unprecedented control.

✨ Features:
βœ… Non-planar deposition
βœ… Local vertical structures
