Docs as code is a great fit for developer platforms. I've written a blog post about the Sphinx plugins that I use the most on these projects - would love to hear more recommendations too https://lornajane.net/posts/2022/sphinx-extensions-for-developer-portals #DevX #docsascode

When you fire your tech-savvy #Linux and #opensource software staff and your business depends on that tech nothing good can come of it.

Why Twitter will fail shortly

Sometime soon, Twitter will crash badly. Here's why.

The current Twitter mess makes a lot more sense when you remember the platform has just turned 16 and thus, in British teenager terms, is currently engaged in a series of catastrophic social mistakes related to underage drinking.

A quick note of something that may be important for people to know: I already noted that DMs here are a bit sketchy security wise, but (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT): if you mention someone else's account in a DM, Mastodon, yoinks them into the conversation.

So, you know, if you think you're talking about someone behind their back, you might be doing it to their face.

I'm happy to see some #journalists and other big names from That Other Site arriving here. Feel free to look around and ask questions. A few of us have been here longer than a week.

I do have one request: some lesser "journalist" did a puff piece a few days ago about how he joined #Mastodon, poked around for 15 minutes, it was HARD so he left.

We don't need another piece like that. We didn't need the first one.

If you are (planning to) leaving Twitter, don't forget to look at the websites you signed im using Twitter! (More > Settings and Support > Settings and privacy > Security and account access > Apps and sessions > Connected apps)

I wonder which of these entities would create a Mastodon instance first:

Washington Post
US government
Google
Netflix
NBA
