It took me 30 years and a pandemic to get my license, put it off far too long. I usually operate QRP, you most likely will find me on the digital bands. FT4, FT8, APRS etc.

Brief Crossband Voice Repeater outage upcoming.
On Monday, power work in the Columbus module will take the radio offline from around 08:25 UTC (4:25 AM ET) to 10:00 UTC (6:00 AM ET).
The Service Module / Packet radio (APRS) is not expected to be impacted.

The Sun is low on the horizon as explained in post #28. Blue Ghost has about 14 days to complete its mission before the Sun sets and brings brutally cold temperatures.

A heads up.
The #SKYWARN program may be axed, soon.
SkyWarn is a program to prep extreme #weather spotters. Trained, voluntary personnel often relay early warnings of developing conditions to #NWS / #NOAA stations, confirming/validating models and sensor readings.
While it's often associated with #HamRadio it's not necessarily confined to it.
If anyone is interested, would be an idea to take the course. Often available online, about 1hr30min, or in-person at NWS stations relatively nearby.
