As the light fades to darkness, the temperature drops, and the river takes on a tranquil and sometimes eerie quiet, the rafts slip off towards their final kilometers on the river. This is where we see the raft crews come together; this is where the memories that last a lifetime are forged.

31 Venturers at the 1st Eltham Venturer planning night tonight. We have implemented 4 Patrols and Patrol Leaders as we now have 43+ Venturers including new enquires.

Thanks for a productive night, some great work, and achievements.

The Patrols were very useful.

Tonight we're in the Pyrenées-Atlantiques! We have the Col de Soudet (15.2km at 7.2%) and the Col de Marie Blanque (7.7km at 8.6%), with an 11.2km descent from the latter to a 7.2km flattish finish.

#FRATL entries @Sophoife before the first rider crests the Soudet please (75.2km to go).

One of the serious losses from the idiot manbaby screwing up the birdsite so badly is the loss of an extremely useful near real-time comms channel for emergency services during disasters. If someone at Australian NEMA was clueful they could stand up a Masto instance for them all.
