The fact that I know more about Katy Perry and Lauren Sánchez’s 11-minute space trip than I do about Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito’s decades-long crime spree shows exactly what is terribly wrong with today’s political mainstream media.

This sign perfectly captures why we #protest.

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

AI doesn’t need to become self-aware to be dangerous. It just needs to be plugged into HR, healthcare, and credit scoring systems with no appeal process.

A reminder that a former chairman of Nestlé, Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, once dismissed the idea that we should have access to water as a basic right as "extreme" and argued that all water should be privatised and access to it controlled by corporations.

If you wonder why people view "health" insurance CEOs with white-hot fury, ProPublica's detailed look into the contemptible actions of a Blue Cross boss (and his lawyers) should make it clear.

Key phrase: "...authorization (for surgery) never says we're going to pay you..."

“Slow Pay, Low Pay or No Pay”

Blue Cross authorized mastectomies and breast reconstructions for women with cancer but refused to pay the full doctors’ bills. A jury called it fraud and awarded the practice $421 million.

"immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than u.s. citizens" has gone missing from USG website.

Undocumented Immigrant Offending Rate Lower Than U.S.-Born Citizen Rate

An NIJ-funded study examining data from the Texas Department of Public Safety estimated the rate at which undocumented immigrants are arrested for committing crimes. The study found that undocumented immigrants are arrested at less than half the rate of native-born U.S. citizens for violent and drug crimes and a quarter the rate of native-born citizens for property crimes.[1]
