I'm a dad of two, a husband, a scientist, a teacher, and perhaps a secular Buddhist.
In science I trust.

I apologise for mixing British and American English.

@AnandaSiddhartha You're welcome. Also, there are a lot of apps for Mastodon (Fediverse), it's not just one. The most popular ones are probably Tusky and Trunky for Android and IceCubes for iOS. I prefer Moshidon, Fedilab and Subway Tooter (which is pretty bizarre, but perfectly customizable app).
@AnandaSiddhartha Welcome!
I have a tip for you. If you want greater reach and for everyone to see your posts, it will be better to set the correct language for the post you are sending.
For example, your introduction is written in English, but the post language is set to German.
@cynblogger They're both plush! 😁

@chrismcmillan0 I mean, what if my answer is No to any activity?

For me, that's a sign that I'm burned out and need a break.

@TrueBlue4THREE Thank you 🙂

Finding three good things from the last month that made me truly happy (not just relief from stress) is harder. Here they are:

1. My daughter (6 months) started to sit and is trying to crawl,

2. My mum stayed with us for three days and it was nice,

3. I reviewed an academic paper that slightly touched on Buddhism.

Recently I haven't been very active on the Fediverse. Too many urgent duties and stress. I'm more anxious than average, but the last month was objectively extreme. Three relieving things:

1. A PhD student that I advise submitted his thesis just before the deadline,

2. My car passed inspection with no issues, although I remembered the deadline at the last moment,

3. Our paper passed peer review and was accepted just before the project ended.

@chrismcmillan0 What if the answer is No in all cases? 🤔
@wyantyan I think there are so many "opportunities" everywhere to divert our short-term attention that we end up overwhelmed, and the motivation to read (to devote longer attention to something more valuable) becomes lower. We also have less free time.
@wyantyan I'm afraid that, apart from us, the world we live in has also changed during that time.
