Es bleiben wohl die Probleme, die auch im Kontext des #CyberResilienceAct für Open Souce Geschäftsmodelle auftauchen.
Der Entwurf der #EUKommisson für einen „#CyberResilienceAct“ (#CRA) ist in der Absicht löblich: mehr Sicherheit und Nachhaltigkeit für Software. Für die #OpenSource-Entwicklung in Europa könnte er allerdings desaströse Folgen haben, ohne der Sicherheit zu dienen.

According to Polish #privacy watchdog @panoptykon Foundation, the Polish government is not only continuing unapologetically with its 12-month, unconditional #dataRetention of all traffic data. This alone is already most likely contrary to European law.
But now the Polish government is topping it all off by introducing a bill (implementing #EU Directive 2018/1972) that additionally obliges service providers of e.g. email, chat or instant messaging services to store all data that "uniquely identifies users online".
At the same time, all this data is to remain readily accessible to the authorities, data subjects do not need to be informed and no independent supervisory authority controls the use of the data.

Polski rząd wdraża unijną dyrektywę ustanawiającą Europejski kodeks łączności elektronicznej. Mógł skupić się na dostosowaniu starych przepisów do tego, jak obecnie korzystamy z maili czy komunikatorów. Jednak przy okazji wprowadzania nowych regulacji dla sektora telekomunikacyjnego rząd wykorzystał okazję do nałożenia nowych obowiązków na dostawców usług komunikacyjnych. Będą musieli przez 12 miesięcy przechowywać informacje na temat użytkowników na potrzeby służb.

Are there any protests against the EU Chat Control plans at your place and in your communities?
Do you know about the debates or information that the EU is planning to introduce mass surveillance of private chats, indirect bans of encryption (affecting Signal, Threema and so on too), a mandatory age/identity verification system for accessing websites and for downloading apps as well as website blocking?
We're familiar with the situations in Germany and Austria, where it's mostly net activists, some civil rights organisations and a few journalists providing information/warnings about the European Union's plans. There aren't many protests or activities against it yet, however most people across the political spectrum, including anarchists and leftists, who are aware of the EU's plans are generally opposing them.
However we're curious about the situation in other EU countries and also in non-EU countries. If Chat Control, encryption bans, mandatory identity verification laws will be passed in the EU, they'll affect the internet as a whole and most likely will become a precedent for similar laws and efforts worldwide.
So is EU Chat Control a topic in your places and communities?
If yes, who is debating and are people protesting and in what ways?
