If you pedal backwards on a Peloton, fried chicken appears in the cup holder.

After 13 years and over 50,000 posts, I left twitter. I can’t be part of a platform that allows that kind of hate to exist.

If you don’t draw a line somewhere, you’ll never draw a line anywhere…. and my line was Trump’s return.

#RIPTwitter

My #INTRODUCTION: I'm a TV writer and showrunner based in LA who was born and raised in Tulsa. Spent all the money I earned mowing lawns to see STAR WARS eleven times and decided I wanted to write for a living, but wasn't sure how. Then Coppola directed THE OUTSIDERS in my home town. Got a bit part and a single line ("Whatchoogonnadoaboutit?") and realized if I really wanted to join the circus-- I had to follow the circus out west. Luckily got into USC Film School (where I'm now a professor)...
It was three years ago that I started to see the shadow animals.
Not what I’d have expected from NPR, but it’s 100% true. Good for them.
My #INTRODUCTION: Actor first. Playwright next. Moved to LA to write 1/2 hour comedy (was not that funny). Then film (hated the culture). Then TV. Then Showrunning, which suited me perfect. I am a sheep dog at heart. I wake up thinking about sheep; about keeping them safe from wolves and fed and warmed. I spend my day doing that and then when I sleep...I dream of sheep. I may have written shows you know, but I've yet to write the thing that defines me...
I go to lots of concerts and love all kinds of music (except death metal-- I'm just not that angry). Passionate devotee of terrestrial radio and a former DJ myself at KRMG in Tulsa. Big geek over history-- especially World's Fairs and International Expositions (yes, they're still happening and yes, you should totally go to one). And madly in love with the great Golden State of California where I fully intend to spend the rest of my hopefully long and never boring life. Nice to meet you!
Paid for school as the creative director for an LA ad agency. Wrote trailers and taglines for movies (HOME ALONE: The Family Comedy Without the Family. THE MASK: From Zero to Hero). Wrote and sold a few screenplays and pilots of my own that nobody saw, until I suddenly got my first movie and series produced in the same year: I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER and MERCY POINT. Worked on all kinds of other shows you've probably seen. Mostly proud of being a father of three amazing people...
