Hello defcon.social! 👋 New here. I build open-source dev tools and guitar chord libraries. Currently working on ChordRoom — a free chord chart database with 260k+ songs.
Excited to connect with the security and tech community here!

#introduction
Greetings, pagan.plus! This is my attempt at introducing myself.
I'm something you could call an "armchair magician": I read lots of occult books but rarely do anything with the knowledge. I like the sort of philosophical "high magic" associated with the classic renaissance grimoires but I'm also interested in modern folk practices, myths, philosophy and psychology. I'm also a father and husband, have an education in mathematics, and work in IT.
This is a pagan instance by name. I don't know what classifies as pagan, but if we take the traditional meaning of the word, that is any non-Abrahamic religion, then I'm a proud pagan. The most specific label I can consistently identify with is "spiritually open". Nowadays I feel like more of a Neoplatonist. Right now it seems reasonable to me that there is some kind of Monad beyond even the concept of existence, that is the source of all things, and different deities are interfaces you can approach this utterly transcendent being through. It also seems reasonable that this being is not reachable through reason alone, you need to step outside the world of logic with some kind of "theurgy" to be able to actually experience it.
Hii people of Fedi!
I'm a CS student doing programming language development (type theory in particular), assisted theorem proving and computer art as hobbies :)
I'm also interested in kernel developement, game developement, emulation, audio synthesis, and embedded systems. Generally, everything that involves programming cool stuff :3
My current plan in life is to work for a few years in the most interesting and morally good job I can find, then try to get a doctorate in type theory.
I mainly plan to post type theory, albeit at a beginner level, as well as rants about the jankiness of current computing. There is a big gap between what I feel a computer _should_ be and what it currently is, and I spend quite a lot of time thinking about how to shrink it.
If I ever manage to gather the courage, I'll post some art too.
I'm new not only to fedi but to profile-based social media in general - as opposed to forum-based. Please, tell me if I ever make any typo or grammatical mistake. I'm pretty shy online, even socially anxious, but I'd like to use this platform to affirm myself more. I'll be posting some bad art and bad takes, and that's gonna be fine... (probably..?)
I'm pleased to meet you all!
Hey! New here. I build web tools and play guitar in my spare time. Currently obsessed with learning fingerstyle arrangements of pop songs.
Anyone else find that breaking down a pop song into a fingerpicking pattern teaches you way more about harmony than just strumming the chords?
Oookay so this is a cool place. Wafrn, huh? Explain to me why this is never brought up when I'm looking for a Fediverse service with a really strong AI policy to reccommend to people? Bc if I can follow peeps from Mastodon and the like from here, fuck you, take my money!
Hello, hello! I’m a #knitter looking forward to the https://minnesotayarnshophop.com/ 🧶 I also enjoy #genealogy, #gardening, SciFi and loose leaf tea.
Hello everyone at #CoSocial (and beyond)! Time for an #introduction as we’ve migrated here.
We're a cycling advocacy group in Waterloo Region, Ontario.
In addition to our advocacy work, we're proud to have worked on the initial release of the @CyclingGuide mobile app to get it working for Waterloo people.
We're in the Fediverse to let our community know what we're up to, but also to connect with like-minded groups elsewhere!
