i first met SK in Ithaca in 2018 when she said she's working on a book of essays. 4 years on, that book is a *stunning* memoir. WE TAKE OUR CITIES WITH US takes a keen interest in the distinctiveness of people, places, & incidents as well as their echoes across space & time

prepping for my #PostcolonialLit class where we are (still) reading Attia Hossain’s Sunlight on the Broken Column & came here to say how deeply I dislike the recent UK cover of the book (purple) for its exotic/Orientalist leanings. The Penguin India cover is so much better.
