It's not clear to me how 100 million existing Instagram users signing onto Threads in a few days sets a record for adoption of a new app. These are existing users.

If this is a record, its gonna need an asterisk.

Is the $3499 price of the #Apple #VisionPro too high?

The IBM PC debuted at $1565 in 1981 ($5223 in today's dollars).

The first HP LaserJet Printer sold for $3495 in 1984 ($10,205 in today's dollars).

So not really!

Finally have access to the GPT-4 web browsing plug in. Can't say I'm impressed yet though... This is kind of sorry.

Anyone have good recommendations for #ChatGPT document query (pdfs or urls) to uncover themes and key ideas? Ideally to compare and contrast multiple documents which are academic research articles. And ideally to interpret the documents against a broader body of knowledge (i.e., not just summarize/rehash what's there).

I've tried #ChatDOC (https://chatdoc.com/) but it's based on 3.5 and responses seem generic and don't go beyond what is in the pdf.

ChatDOC - Chat with your documents

ChatDOC is a ChatGPT-based file-reading assistant that can quickly extract, locate and summarize information from documents, able to understand texts, tables and images.

My favorite #midjourney images are the #ThomBrowne post-apocalypse wedding photos.

I’m an #academic who has been researching consumer experience on the Internet since 1993. Currently interested in how people interact with #smartobjects and #ai in the #iot and the #smarthome (recent pubs: https://rebrand.ly/JCR2018 & https://rebrand.ly/JAMS2019 ).

I use #machinelearning methods in #python like #umap, #tda and #nlp for #DataVisualization (forthcoming pub: https://rebrand.ly/JCR2023 )

I yell at my #alexa and #roomba devices too much, and am a huge #wetleg fan.
