My son discovered today that he has no internal dialogue and doesn't visualize things in his mind - ever.

He said he remembers details - went to the beach on June 13th, saw my cousins. But has no visualized memories of the actual beach.

He knows what he did but doesn't have an internal video player.

Pretty damn interesting.

@theloopfarm it's called aphantasia. I have it too. :)

There's been a decent amount of research on it the past few years. Pretty interesting stuff.

@theloopfarm I have aphantasia as well. No mind's eye. My memory is decent. I imagine visual imagery but can't see it. But I have an inner dialogue. I don't know what not having one is called.

@theloopfarm I think about it now that I know I have it! Until a couple of years ago, I didn't realize others could see rather than imagine images in their mind.
