New years celebration by the AAPI community at Denver’s far east center. Lion dances, red envelopes, martial arts, Taiko drummers, Filipino-style ube mamón, Vietnamese iced coffee, and stark reminders of the importance of these events and cultural spaces. #lunarnewyear #newyear #happynewyear #culture #asian #festival #coffee
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day🍀

We took this in a village called Glounthaune, not far from Cork, and really liked it. I’m way behind on pictures but need to go brave the rain today to celebrate.
Excellent marketing.

From their website: “The Big Knit is our partnership with innocent drinks. We've been working together since 2003, asking the country's crafters to knit little hats for the tops of innocent smoothie bottles. Every hat knitted raises 25p to help Age UK provide much-needed services and support to older people.”

Still fascinated by these one-way-sized streets that are treated as two-ways-with-yielding and are sometimes limited to (hopeful) one-way streets during rush hour? Taken in the center of a 200,000+ city. Is this common? Am I missing something? Seems unideal.

Coffee upgrade: pour-over. It seems ideal for the short-term on the lazy—>taste spectrum. I’ve only used machines back home.

Instant coffee is popular here, but the taste is terrible. So I’m stoked to learn this new technique #coffee
A new arrival brought some treats straight from home, and they were delicious. Sweet bread with a fruity filling😋 she said they’re very popular at home.

Local shelves📚

If you’re somewhere new for a bit, it’s a great look into the culture. History, current events, interests. Sometimes these are the only places a book will be sold.

People passageways

Coming from a country/region where almost nothing is made for pedestrians, these continue to be a pleasant surprise.
