Lots of deeply sad crisis caused by incompetent leaders but for me it’s hard to see the generational cuts to NASA outlined in this article. Reducing the science team for the Webb telescope to “life support only” is foolish beyond words! It took decades to build, launch, and deploy. All the things we could learn if we just did the most basic things right.

“Perseverance is among the latest in a lineage of interplanetary robotic explorers that NASA has built across almost 60 years, for about $60 billion. That’s less than what Mark Zuckerberg spent on his struggling metaverse.”

Archaeologists: D.C. Capitol May Have Once Been Used For Legislating

WASHINGTON—Calling the discovery the “clearest proof yet” of how the U.S. government was originally designed to function, archaeologists published new evidence Thursday that suggests the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., may have once been used for legislating. In their academic paper, the researchers wrote that the sprawling, 540-room marble complex contained conclusive proof that a […]

Deciding who sets the agenda and leads as Portland City Council President is one of the most important issues counselors can decide. I'm proud to watch and see this debate taking place in public and not just in back rooms. We need this level of transparency and direct view into how our local government is run.

How the president plans to lead needs to be publicly debated, not just rubber stamped.

Keep it going! Get some popcorn if you're bored.

Tonight Democrats proved that old quip.

If a genie gave Democrats 3 wishes, they'd negotiate it down to 1, and then wish for something they think Republicans will like.

We need a true opposition party now more than ever. Because this aint it.

When are they going to vote on removing members? If you cave for nothing then what’s the point?

We reviewed federal prosecutions, local arrests, internal protest summaries by the Portland Police Bureau and more than 700 video clips posted to social media before Trump said he wanted to send the National Guard to the city.

Here’s what we found.

What Really Happened in Portland Before Trump Deployed the National Guard

In the two months before Trump’s decision, criminal charges were announced against only three people. On nights when physical conflict did erupt, it often came from police firing on, shoving, pepper-spraying and tackling protesters.
