Lets fucking go ...
I tried using Email but the onboarding was very confusing. I have to choose a server? And I'm at the whims of server admins having petty disputes for if my posts are delivered to my friends?

Holy shit.

"…they proposed that our background performers should be able to be scanned, get one day’s pay, and their companies should own that scan, their image, their likeness and should be able to use it for the rest of eternity on any project they want, with no consent and no compensation."

Twitter is now paying people to spread hate

Reminder: if you’re still on Twitter—your presence and your interactions generate revenue. You’re literally funding the alt right.

#dialofdestiny messed me right up. Good film. I'm really glad they came back for this one, it's a much stronger finale than Indy 4 was. I really needed this one to be good.

It's amazing how Twitter has proven through news events to basically have become useless now. Breaking news isn't breaking there any longer. And reddit... Well that's a tire fire currently burning.

Im glad to Mastodon and Lemmy have been building out platforms to prepare for this eventuality. Hopefully things go a bit better ton a federated network, but who knows.

@kangaroo5383 This also completely deanonymizes any and all interaction made on that account, as even if you were to join a private support group, your verification number will be an instant ID on you. It's effective, but I'm strongly against this method.

Also it's weak to SIM spoofing, from a security perspective.

@sarangshah I think the implosion of not just Twitter, but Reddit as well as reinvigorated this conversation. The more familiar people become with the concept the easier it is each time there's a push.

I'm already moving to lemmy for aggregated links.
