As long as #GDPR is taken into account, I think that pay-per-crawl might be a positivie and constructive solution developed by companies like #Cloudflare, to solve the added cost of dealing with the increasing problem of uncompensated/for-profit webscraping in the era of generative AI.

I have been monitoring if toots are correctly deleted on #Mastodon, and so far so good: the protocol between instances appears to be robust. However, this is not always true for other platforms connected to it through the #fediverse (probably because they are at an early stage, and/or more experimental in ethos).
Was it ever proposed to add a feature to Mastodon to limit the scope of toots to mastodon network only (to opt-out from fediverse basically)?
