I don't see the #RedBelliedWoodpecker too often so was quite excited to see this one on my Maple tree in winter. They are a medium sized #Woodpecker with beautiful black and white barred plumage and brilliant red cap on the males and red nape for the females.This male was tapping the tree looking for the sap

@perigrin if it didn't make your knuckles bleed, you're missing a critical part of the experience. I think I've had a docker container brain bleed. It was less rewarding. 🤣

@perigrin the van project started it. But I trade it for nothing. A few hours of working with my hands, scraping my knuckles, cussing nonstop, and no room for distractions is extremely good for my mental health.

@perigrin that's how I treated Twitter. But I've managed to at least skim all the posts in my timeline for weeks, now, and it's been rewarding, a very different experience than Twitter. I've fallen behind.
