All the scholarly material I have read says that they feel, or report, or argue that the democratic party abandoned them, but that's all about their beliefs, rather than reality.
They were, and are still now, the beneficiaries of myriad advantages. It seems to my reading that this is more about the world passing them by because they stood still, than being abandoned by anyone.
Also, they lurched rightwards, not leftwards

Depending on Wattage and its open circuit Voltage you might be looking for either a regulator or invertor, and have different aims for it.
If it is a 100W panel, getting an inverter to run your PC might be an option
If its a 20W panel, getting a regulator to charge batteries might be a more useful goal

At today's #writers workshop, we wrote to a prompt that included the condition that we write a duplex poem. Duplex is a stepchild of the pantoum, so there is repetition of elements.

When the jaws open wide
and there’s more jaws inside,
that’s a moray.
When it skulks in a reef
and has two sets of teeth,
that’s a moray.
When an eel bites your thigh
and you bleed out and die
that’s a moray.
