This month I decided to stop tweeting not for any political reason or to make a statement, but because the product had degraded. My feed was filled with a bunch of nonsense that wasn’t fun to wade through. As a consumer (and content creator), I decided to go elsewhere. And that is exactly how it should be: platforms should be free to decide how to moderate, and consumers should be free to decide whether to go elsewhere.

i always have to remind people that the actual KKK conducted a march in my town in PA as recently as 1980. Segregation is so recent, my parents actively participated in it.
They'd hoped that I'd be part of it too. I'm in my mid-30s, and a lot of my peers think it's ancient history.
The incident Musk used to justify suspending journalists had nothing to do with tracking his plane. Although we already knew that from OSINT folks--who pointed out that the incident occurred nowhere near an airport--the truth is apparently weirder. Drew HarwellFor anyone wondering, I'm still unable to access Twitter until I delete this tweet, which is factual journalism that doesn't even break the location rule Twitter enacted a few days ago. The account isn't marked as suspended anymore, but I can't use it or see tweets from people I follow. Using Mastodon exclusively for now and actually really enjoying it.
