I think it is the App. I was using the native Matodon app for iOS. I tried masToot also and now metaText. MetaText is the only app that displays the #AltText or #caption. Maybe there are settings somewhere that I haven’t found on the other apps. Still may be #pebkac

If journalists want people to read and follow their work here on Mastodon, they should make the effort to engage with their followers instead of acting like we’re pieces of furniture in the room.
