@rob I see, it maybe that the progress isn't as advanced as we thought it would be.

I mean, when I looked up on youtube for latest humanoid robot, we're still trying it to get it to walk on its own (July 2023):

I guess the skeleton part needs to be right first before any skinning.

@thatisabigmood I pirated a lot things when I was still a student, and a lot less after I earn a living. I still do it for things that are geographically hard to get or expensive to gather, especially knowing I'm just going to consume them once or none at all anyway.
Overall it's good. I won't buy One Piece merchs and Uniqlo shirts if I didn't pirated their manga. I won't love Zelda, bought Switch just play BotW, if I didn't play Link's Awakening or Link to the Past via emulators.

Tell me you're a corporate shill without telling me that you're a corporate shill.

For once, the elected officials actually works to protect their people from exploits, but no, gruber can't play with his new shiny toy in EU, so regulations are bad.

'Murican 🤦

Be informed that admin of alpaca.gold, a data scientist, has explicitly claim that remote posts pulled and stored in their server are consenting those data to be use for whatever purpose that he likes.

to seldo: thank you for justifying my reason for not using my name, photo, or share anything personal in public. You have successfully made your point that fediverse is not a safe place from exploits.

@[email protected] I think people federating their public posts to my stock Mastodon server, a service that stores posts forever, was already giving me consent.

Alpaca.Gold

stay weird, fediverse. do not conform to the mainstream.

you are not a replacement of anything, be you and do your own things.

you exists not to entertain others' expectations, you are not a service provider. there is no product, there is no customer, there is no transaction.

you are all communities of diverse people, not advertisement billboards.

resist the capitalists!

If you ever wonder why people keeps coming back to an abusive relationship and doesn't leave their abusive partner, observe no further as this new wave of #twitterMigration subsides in a few days and those newcomers quietly go back into Elon's arms.

Better to stay with the devil you know than to explore the unknowns of fediverse. Proof me wrong.

@Mastodon

But you did leave at least one stone unturned, the server rules.

Also, my filter for hiding links are meant for public timelines, yet it's being applied on home timeline. I can see your post on web app, but not on the Android app.

I'll stick to the web app, the native app cannot be trusted.

Defederation is THE killer feature of #Mastodon and other #ActivityPub implementations with solid domain/account management.

Kicking out a shitty admin and their associates is not only normal, it's how civilizations able to progress. Communities cannot move forward if they get bothered by the same pests who don't know what boundaries mean.

I fully expect m.s and m.o to be defederated when it's crawling with roaches and alike. There's no such thing as too big to block on a healthy federation.

@FinchHaven

So? If that happens, Mastodon Social would be just another social network to migrate/export your data out, giving chance to other non-Gargron instances, or pleroma, misskey, even Mastodon forks, or other ActivityPub software to shine. It's not like people would have to rebuild their network from scratch.

@techadept

People choose to post with the hastag fediblock.
People choose to follow the hashtag fediblock.
People choose their server whose admin post or follow fediblock, server which they can choose to migrate out if crypto is important to them.

Everything about fediblock is people exercising their choice, how is that censorship?
