Desde que tengo uso de razón he tenido fobia a romper cosas y a hacer daño a la gente incluso cuando tendría alguna razón para ello; noto una sensación de disgusto íntimo. Quizás sea esa una razón más por la cual las imágenes de las guerras me afectan tanto. ¿Qué nos pasa a los humanos que tenemos esta afición a la violencia sin límite, a la destrucción como herramienta de poder? Incluso en sociedades supuestamente avanzadas no me parece que evolucionemos a mejor suficientemente rápido.

Head's up, Mastodon users: There appears to be a coordinated effort to impersonate relatively high-profile people who have accounts on various instances but who have not used them in a while.

I've gotten several follow notifications - and a couple of DMs - from impersonators of people I know. The bogus accounts have lots of underscores in the handles, and they repost items from the past, sometimes years old. If you spot this, please report, do not engage, and then block.

#OnThisDay, 24 Feb 1968, Jocelyn Bell Burnell - along with her male supervisor and three other men - published a paper confirming the discovery of pulsars. She had built the array, picked up the signal and argued it was not an anomaly. Hewish received the Nobel prize for it in 1974: Bell Burnell did not.

In 2018 Bell Burnell received a £3m prize for her work. She's used it to set up a foundation to improve the diversity in STEM.
