The @Grist article captures part of the CAHSR ( #California #HighSpeedRail ) issue with politics and project management. But California's terrain is a real challenge too. The Central Valley (Bakersfield-Fresno-Merced) is the obvious starting segment in flat terrain. Then connecting to the Bay Area & LA will have to cross mountains riddled with fault lines that are part or spurs of the tectonic plate boundary. The engineering is possible but expensive. #transit #railroad #transportation #geology

@MineralCup Ok this is another match where I’ve never heard of either mineral! Hoping some of the #Chemistry folks and #Geology people will be able to add more information about these two. All I’ve got so far is #Tugtupite because of color-changing and Greenland. Cesium sounds scary for #Pollucite. #MinCup25
