I'm a dad to three #SDE kids and husband to @beckyyurkowski. Occupationally, I'm a software consultant who focuses on architecture, productivity, and enablement. Hobby-wise, I'm a semi-professional baritone vocalist for #choir, enjoy #woodworking, all manner of DIY, learning the #guitar and #french. Strong believer in #WearAMask.

If you follow me, please feel free to toot at me or introduce yourself!

@reverie happy to walk you through at some point if you'd like!
@JacksonBates I'm lactose intolerant, so without the fetaverse I'm bound to toot anyway.
@JacksonBates Okay, but I was telling my folks and my wife about the fediverse and they totally thought I was talking about the fetaverse.

@matt Check Kent too. I used to be able to get it at Home Depot in the cleaning aisle!
@solnic I love and deeply appreciate how you, Tim, and Luca are dragging us kicking and screaming into the next era, lol.
@HIH_Homeschool Same thing, though sometimes 'a server' refers to the software that an instance runs (e.g. most of the servers on the fediverse are Mastodon servers). It's dependent on context. But like 99% of the time, they're just meaning the same thing.

Announcing Hanami v2.0.0.rc1

First Release Candidate! Preparing for the stable release, and sharing a preview of our updated guides.

Hanami

I got to sit in with a #choir in #Antigonish tonight, which was super lovely. They're really talented and have a really excellent sound.

It was amusing how most of their songs were about the sea. Coincidence of programming, I'm sure, but it was a real 'Welcome to #NovaScotia' moment for me!

It was also my first time sight-reading #Gaelic, which was a real delight, let me tell you, lol.

Here was that song, which is absolutely gorgeous with a deep history:

It is surprisingly hard to not re-follow familiar big-number handles from the birdsite 'for information'.

This feels like a super great chance to build cooperative networks, but that only works if the relationship is bidirectional. There's folks that I could toot at all day for a year and it wouldn't make sense for them to know me as a person.

I crave the connection. I am so grateful to the Early Tooters for figuring that bit out.
